DISCOVER BRIGHTON: THE OPEN MARKET22:09:00
Thanks to my equally food obsessed roomie I have found one of Brighton´s treasures, in my opinion more frequented by locals: The Open Market. While during the week most stands "only" sell local fruits and vegetables for basically no money at all (all the bowls you see below are one pound!) during the week, there are also stands for all things vintage from jewelry to a beautiful worldmap that I had to force myself not to buy. Next to this there is a variety of cafés within the market ranging from Middle Eastern kitchen to delicious baked goods. There was also a wonderful bookshop with all kinds of classics and a vintage clothes store, which completed my list of things I love and spend too much money on.
The market is open every day during the week from 9 to 5 and on weekends from 10 to 5. Sundays are optional opening days so not all stalls might be open, but I would recommend a visit any day, even just to have a look around (and save a lot of money on your weekly shopping). The Open Market is easily accessible by foot from the city centre of Brighton or by a variety of busses either stopping at the Open Market or London Road shops.
